At any rate, I still wanted to meet Jeff, not only to thank him in person for the wonderful work that he did on the poster, but also because I’m a big fan of his autobiographical graphic novels. Luckily, I was able to meet Jeff last January when he flew in from Chicago to make an appearance at Indy Euphoria, a toy & comic convention located in Sacramento, CA. Not only is Jeff a swell guy, but he also agreed to sit down for a video interview about the making of the Rabbit Fever poster!

Jeff released a new mini comic book entitled “Process” that’s about…well…the PROCESS of drawing and writing his comic books. I picked up one for myself at the Sacramento convention and it’s GREAT – full of behind-the-scenes insight and self-deprecating humor. But, the REALLY cool thing about this comic book is that it comes with original artwork – scraps that never made it to the final stages and pages ripped right out of Jeff’s sketchbooks! I found Brian after browsing This American Life’s website. I’m a big fan of the radio show, and I saw that Brian had designed an awesome vintage radio design t-shirt for TAL’s pledge items. I knew his style would fit the type of concept I was envisioning for the “rabbit brain.” I think he did an excellent job! Check out Brian’s other work on his website.

There is now a Facebook Fan Page.  If you look there, you can see regular updates (concept art, stills, etc.)  that I will post regarding the film’s progress.  Or, if you just want to be super awesome, you can just “Become a Fan” to support the film.

Also, I’ve finally decided on one of the many variations of the Jeffrey Brown poster art for the film.  Interestingly enough, although he illustrated a beautiful and more detailed version of the sketch, I ended up deciding on the initial rough version because I think it really captures the spirit of the film.
